Monterosa Tour with Zermatt
Day 1
Arrive Champoluc
Day 2
• 9.30am: Off-piste skiing in the Monterosa ski area between Champoluc and Alagna with guide and ski instructor.
• Free riding in the Grand Bettolina and Olen valleys.
• Lunch at the Guglielmina rifugio is a must on this trip!
Day 3
• 8.30am: Take the lifts up to Colle Bettaforca
• 10.00am: Helicopter ride to Col del Lys (4200m). Descent on the Grenz Glacier to Zermatt, surrounded by the awesome peaks of Lyskamm, Castore and Dufour. Cable car ride up to the Piccolo Cervino (Klein Matterhorn), and ski down to Champoluc through the gentle, sweeping valley of Cime Bianche.
• Lunch on route.
Day 4
• Depending on weather conditions there will either be a free day for more off-piste skiing, or another day of heli ski in the Monterosa Mountain Group (To be paid locally)
• Depart Champoluc in the afternoon or evening, or request an extra night in the hotel (£50 per night).
Although the route is not particularly difficult from a technical point of view, this is definitely a high altitude environment, and concentration and good downhill technical skills are essential, likewise a good degree of physical fitness.
Please ensure that your insurance covers you for off- piste and heli skiing.
