Ligurian Riviera - How to get there

Travelling to Liguria

Flights

Pisa and Genoa are the most convenient airports for the Ligurian coast, though Nice (France) and Turin are also reasonable options when travelling by train or hiring a car.

Genoa is recommended for holidays to Camogli, Sestri Levante and Monterosso Mare.

Pisa is recommended for holidays to Tellaro.

If you are selecting a holiday combination with a Piemonte or Lakes & Mountain stay, you may prefer to arrive at an airport convenient for the coast and depart from Turin (or vice versa!)

We are happy to advise on which airports are the most suitable for your chosen holiday, and can assist with finding suitable flights.

If you would like to get a quotation, or book your flights with British Airways, Jet2 or Flybe, please use the links provided on the left.

Private Airport Transfers to Liguria

All our Ligurian holidays include a private return transfer from either Genoa airport, for holidays in Camogli, Sestri Levante and Monterosso Mare, or Pisa airport for holidays in Tellaro.

If you would prefer to make your own arrangements - please let us know and we will send you a quotation without the transfers.

Taxi transfers are organised on an individual basis and you will have no waiting time at the airport.

Public Transport in Liguria

Train services along the Ligurian coast are frequent, cheap and reliable.

Camogli, Sestri Levante  and the towns of the Cinque Terre all have their own stations, which connect with the main Pisa - Genoa – Turin line.

The coastal resorts of Liguria are easily reached by train from the airports of Pisa and Genoa, and also Turin or Nice (France).

The Italian train web site http://www.trenitalia.com/ is very comprehensive and has an English language option.

Please contact us for further information or advice.

Hire Car & Self Driving

You may prefer to hire a car or drive to Italy with your own.

Please ask us for a hire car quotation or make your own arrangements by clicking on the Holiday Autos symbol to the left.

Please note that the towns of the Cinque Terre are largely un-accessible by car.

If you are unsure how best to reach Liguria from the UK, we will happily advise on the best routes
