Piemonte Lake & Wine Tour

Combine a relaxing late summer break at the lake side Hotel San Rocco with a fully guided tour of the wine producing regions of Piedmont.

Our Escorted Tours are for small groups of between 8 and 12 people.

Our 4 day guided wine tour will take you to both the Monferrato and Langhe areas of Piedmont. The Langhe is well known for such wines as Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera and Dolcetto, whilst Monferrato is better known for its Barbera, Ruche’, Freisa and Moscato.

Piedmont is famous for its excellent food and we will be introducing you to some of the best restaurants and trattorias in the area.

Our tour is timed to coincide with the grape harvest as well as the Douja d'Or wine festival in Asti.

September Itinerary and what’s included:

Transfers from Milan Malpensa to Hotel San Rocco, Orta San Giulio.

Transfers from Castiglione Falletto to Milan Malpensa airport.

3 nights at the fabulous lake side Hotel San Rocco in Orta San Giulio with free time for relaxation and exploring the local area including the town of Orta San Giulio and San Giulio Island.

2 nights at the Castello di Razzano in Monferrato

2 nights at the Hotel le Torri in the Langhe

Day 1 

Transfer from Milan Malpensa to Hotel San Rocco (Classic Lake View Rooms)

Dinner in hotel

Day 2

Breakfast at the Hotel San Rocco. 

Free dinner

Day 3

Breakfast and dinner at the Hotel San Rocco

Day 4

Breakfast at the Hotel San Rocco

Departure at 2pm for the Castello di Razzano in Alfiano Natta (Junior Suite accommodation)

Dinner at a local restaurant (half a bottle of local wine per person included)

Overnight at the Castello di Razzano

Day 5

Breakfast at the hotel

Grape picking and picnic lunch amongst the Barbera vines of Alfiano Natta

Late afternoon visit to Asti and the International Douja d’Or wine festival.

Dinner at a restaurant in Asti (half a bottle of local wine per person included) and return to the Castello di Razzano.

Day 6

Breakfast at the hotel

Transfer to the Hotel le Torri in Castiglione Falletto.

Lunch in the village with panoramic views of the vineyards

Afternoon walk in the Castiglione area

Dinner at a famous trattoria in Roddino (half a bottle of local wine per person included)

Day 7

Breakfast at the hotel

Full day tour of the wine area including a visit to Fontanafredda and other producers. Wine tasting included!

Lunch in a local trattoria (half a bottle of local wine per person included)

Free dinner

Day 8

Breakfast at the hotel

Departure for Milan Malpensa airport in time for the late morning departures for Manchester (FlyBe) and London (BA)
