Monterosa
Champoluc and Alagna are both delightful unspoiled Alpine villages with distinct Italian character.
The three main Monterosa resorts of Champoluc, Gressoney and Alagna are connected by a modern lift system which covers some 180km of piste. Surrounded by the awesome peaks of the Monterosa chain, the environment is natural and unspoiled with minimal resort development.
Though Italian skiers arrive for the weekends and peak holiday periods, for the most part, skiing is on amazingly quiet pistes.
Holiday accommodation is of a high standard and both Champoluc and Alagna though quiet, offer a good selection of informal bars, restaurants and pizzerias.
There are also plenty of good places to meet and eat on the mountain.
