The three principal reosrts of the Monterosa ski area are Champoluc, Gressoney and Alagna, all delightful unspoiled Alpine villages with distinct Italian character.

In three separate valleys, the villages are connected by a modern lift system which covers some 180km of piste.   Surrounded by the awesome peaks of the Monterosa chain, the environment is natural and unspoiled with minimal resort development. 

The Monterosa area is an intermediates paradise with plenty of long exhilarating red runs.  Champoluc is the most suitable resort for beginners and families, whereas Alagna offers huge potential for off piste adventures.

Though Italian skiers arrive for the weekends and peak holiday periods, for the most part, skiing is on amazingly quiet pistes.

Holiday accommodation is of a high standard and Champoluc, Gressoney and Alagna though quiet, all offer a good selection of informal bars, restaurants and pizzerias. 
There are also plenty of good places to meet and eat on the mountain.
