Ski holidays and short breaks in Alagna

Alagna is the furthest east of the Monterosa area's three principal ski resorts - Alagna, Gressoney and Champoluc.

All are unspoiled Alpine villages full of Italian character but Alagna is perhaps the most enchanting, with it's ancient Walser architecture and traditional village feel.

In three separate valleys, the resorts are connected by a modern lift system which covers some 180km of piste. Surrounded by the awesome peaks of the Monterosa chain, the environment is natural and unspoiled with minimal resort development.

Though Italian skiers arrive for the weekends and peak holiday periods, for the most part the skiing is on amazingly quiet pistes.

Alagna offers huge potential for off piste skiing with numerous descents of varying levels of difficulty. The lift system reaches an altitude of 3,400m and ski touring with skins, and heli trips are easily organised.

Accommodation is of a high standard and Alagna offers a friendly, relaxed ski holiday environment. There are many excellent, good value restaurants and pizzerias, as well as some good bars where skiers congregate at the end of the day.

There are also plenty of good places to meet and eat on the mountain.
