Your Booking
You must be 18 years old or above to book one of our holidays.
The ‘party leader’ is responsible for the booking and all payments due to us.
To make a booking you must send us your fully completed booking form. Once we have confirmed availability to you, we will request a deposit of £125 per person. When we have received your deposit we will send you a ‘booking confirmation’, with full details of the holiday, deposits paid and the balance due.
You must check all details, for all members of the party, thoroughly and contact us immediately if any of the information provided in the documents is incorrect or incomplete. It may not be possible to make changes later.
The holidays of all members of the party must be paid for in full, 8 weeks before the departure date. When a booking is made within the 8 week period, the reservation is secured on receipt of the total holiday cost.
Your Contract
A binding contract between us comes into existence when we dispatch your booking confirmation to the party leader. English law will apply to this contract and any dispute or claim arising between us will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you prefer you may choose the law and jurisdiction of Scotland or Northern Ireland.
You also consent to us processing personal information about you and other members of your party.
Payment
A deposit of £ 125 per person is required as confirmation of your chosen holiday. Full payment is required 8 weeks prior to departure. If we do not receive the balance of payment by this time, we will send you a reminder. If we have not received payment within 7 days of our reminder, we reserve the right to treat your booking as having been cancelled by you.
The cost of your holiday
We reserve the right to make changes and correct errors in advertised prices at any time before your holiday is confirmed. If there are any changes to the published prices, these will be confirmed at the time of booking. Once the price of your holiday has been confirmed, we will only change our prices if our costs increase due to changes in exchange rates, increased transportation costs, taxes or fees payable. Only if the costs increase by more than 2% will we ask you to pay any supplements. If costs increase by 10% or more you will be entitled to cancel your holiday. Should you decide to cancel due to this increase, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days of receipt of the surcharge invoice.
If you wish to change your booking
Should you wish to make any changes to your booking, you should notify us as soon as possible. We will do our best to help, but cannot guarantee that changes will be possible.
Any requests for change must be made by telephone or e-mail and followed up in writing, and will be subject to an administration charge of £25. Any additional costs incurred by the amendment will also be charged.
If you or any member of your party , are unavoidably prevented from traveling, you or they, may transfer the booking to another person, provided that this is done 28 days prior to departure. The person to whom the trip is transferred must meet any conditions which apply to it. The right to transfer is subject to a £25 administration fee, together with all additional charges of whatever sort, imposed by suppliers providing the component part of the trip.
We should emphasise that we cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or additional expense incurred by you as a result of choosing to make a change.
If you wish to cancel your booking
Should you or any member of your party wish to cancel all or part of your booking, you must notify us either by telephone or e-mail straight away, and follow this up with a letter. The letter must be signed by the party leader. The person who made the booking is responsible for any cancellation charges that apply.
If we receive your cancellation more than 8 weeks prior to departure we will retain your deposit. If we receive your cancellation within the 8 week period, the following charges will apply:
29-55 days | 35% | |
15-28 days | 55% | |
8-14 days | 75% | |
0-7 days | 100% | |
of total holiday cost |
Variations may apply where one or two people drop out of a group apartment booking, as the full cost of the apartment will still need to be met.
If we cancel your booking
We reserve the right in any circumstances including cases of under booking or forces beyond our control, to cancel your holiday. If we cancel your holiday you will have the choice of taking an alternative holiday. If we are unable to offer one that you find acceptable you will be entitled to withdraw from the contract and accept a full refund.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking without any obligation to refund or make alternative arrangements where you fail to make payment or otherwise your behaviour brings your holiday to an end. We also reserve the right, for any reason or at any time , at our sole discretion , to decline to accept or retain any person as a client particularly if their conduct is disruptive or affecting the enjoyment of other participants of the trip, and we shall be under no liability for any costs incurred by such a person as a result of our doing so.
If we need to change your booking
If we have to alter your trip before departure, the change will be classed as either minor or major.
Where an alteration is minor, we will if possible, advise you before departure, but are not obliged to do so and will not pay compensation. A minor alteration is any alteration not classified as a major alteration as defined below.
When an alteration is a major alteration (eg. a down grading of accommodation) we will advise you as soon as possible. You will then have the choice of accepting the alteration, accepting a different holiday, if we are able to offer one, (and where this is a lower price, we will refund the difference) or withdrawing from the contract and accepting a full refund of all monies paid, excluding any amendment charges. In addition we will if appropriate , and where the amendment is not caused by forces outside our control, pay compensation as outlined below.
Where after departure, a significant proportion of the services contracted, are not or cannot be provided, you will have the choice of returning to your point of departure, or accepting alternative arrangements. In addition we will if appropriate, and where the amendment is not caused by forces outside our control, pay compensation as outlined below.
Compensation for a cancellation or major change to your holiday will be paid except where it is caused by events beyond our control (these include war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activities, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemics, health risks, technical problems with transport beyond our control or that of our suppliers, changes due to re-scheduling or cancellation of flights, closed or congested airports, severe weather conditions, and any other similar)
| Compensation where applicable will be paid as follows: | ||

29 to 55 days | £10 | |
15 to 28 days | £20 | |
8 to 14 days | £30 | |
0 to 7 days | £40 | |
Suppliers Conditions
Many of the services which make up your holiday are provided by independent suppliers. Those suppliers provide these services in accordance with their own terms and conditions. Some of these terms and conditions may limit or exclude the suppliers liability to you, usually in accordance with applicable International Conventions.
Accommodation
The cost of our hotel accommodation is based on two people sharing a twin or double bedded room. Double rooms used for single occupancy may on occasions be smaller than double rooms used for two people sharing.
The accommodation we arrange for you must only be used by those people on you confirmation invoice. You are not allowed to share the accommodation or let other people stay there.
We expect all clients to have consideration for other people. If in our reasonable opinion, or the reasonable opinion of any other person in authority, you or any member of your party behaves in such a way as to cause or be likely to cause danger, upset or distress to any third party or damage to property, we are entitled, without prior notice to terminate the holiday of the person(s) concerned. In this situation the person(s) concerned will be required to leave the accommodation or other service. We will have no further responsibility toward such person(s), including any return travel arrangements. No refunds will be made.
When you book with us you accept responsibility for any damage or loss caused by you or any member of your party. Full payment for any such damage or loss (including keys) must be paid directly, at the time, to the accommodation owner. If you fail to do so you will be responsible for meeting any subsequent claims as a result of your actions.
Flights
Echo Travel cannot make any refunds or pay compensation for any additional costs involved as a result of changes in published flight times or routes.
Please do not book flights before your chosen holiday has been confirmed.
Health and Fitness
Bookings are accepted on the understanding that all persons traveling are normally in good health and physically equal to the demands of the chosen holiday. If this is in doubt then you must send us, at the time of booking, a doctor’s certificate stating that it is entirely safe for you to go on the holiday that you have chosen.
Special Requests
If you have any special requests, please advise us at the time of booking. Although we will endeavour to pass any reasonable requests to the relevant supplier, we regret we cannot promise that any requests will be met unless we have specifically confirmed this in writing.
Insurance, Passport, Visa and Health Requirements
Please note that adequate travel insurance (including medical, personal accident and repatriation in the event of illness or injury, baggage, money and liability cover as well as loss of monies paid in the event of cancellation) is a condition of booking. A full passport will be required. Non EC residents should check visa requirements with their consulate. There are no compulsory health formalities for visiting Italy.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of all the relevant travel and health documents before departure. All costs incurred by obtaining such documentation must be paid by you.
Liability
We promise to make sure that the holiday arrangements that we have agreed to make, perform or provide as applicable as part of our contract with you, are made, performed or provided with reasonable skill and care. This means that we will, subject to these booking conditions, accept responsibility if, for example you suffer personal injury or your contracted holiday arrangements are not provided as promised, or prove deficient as a result of the failure of ourselves or our employees, agents or suppliers to use reasonable skill and care in making, performing or providing as applicable, your contracted holiday arrangements. Please note that it is your responsibility to show that reasonable skill and care has not been used if you wish to make a claim against us. In addition, we will only be responsible for what our employees, agents and suppliers do or not do, if they were at the time acting within the course of their employment or carrying out work which we had asked them to do.
You must tell us and the supplier involved of any illness or injury whilst you are still in resort, and you should write to us within 28 days of your return home with details of your condition and medical evidence from your doctor.
We will not be responsible for any illness, injury, death, loss, damage, expense, cost or other sum or claim which results from any of the following:
