Champoluc is a delightful unspoilt village high up in the  Ayas Valley.  All levels of skier and boarder are catered for, but it is a an intermediate and advanced paradise.  The three resorts of the Monte Rosa ski area, Champoluc, Gressoney and Alagna are connected by a modern lift system covering 180km of piste.  There is some spectacular high mountain off piste terrain as well as great touring potential in spring.  It is a quiet resort with a selection of  informal bars, restaurants and pizzerias.

Courmayeur
Courmayeur needs little introduction to the keen skier. The location beneath Mont Blanc ensures wonderful skiing in spectacular scenery, and the chic town has plenty to offer the skier and the non-skier alike.  Courmayeur’s own ski area has terrain suitable for  all levels of skier and boarder from beginner to advanced, and in addition those with a little experience can try the Valle Blanche – the most famous off piste descent in the world.
Your ski pass will entitle you to ski or board in nearby resorts such as La Thuile with local connections by bus.
The thermal baths in Pre St Didier are not to be missed. Situated just 3km from Courmayeur, they offer a range of indoor and outdoor spa pools and treatments in superb surroundings with views over Mont Blanc.

Cogne
Cogne is a winter paradise, particularly suitable for those looking for a cross country ski or ice climbing holiday.  There are 80 km of scenic cross country trails in and around the valleys of the Gran Paradiso National Park, and it is also a magnet for those who enjoy climbing ice waterfalls. Downhill skiing in Cogne itself is fairly limited, though it is hoped that the train service to nearby Pila will be operational by the end of the year.  The town itself is a wonderful base for a winter holiday with superb views, walking and snow shoeing, in addition to very high standards of accommodation and cuisine.
